remember watching Romford v west ham and it was a 2 -2 draw at brooklands if im right west ham came back from 0-2 down at half time , and I think it was Graham Paddon scores to get the hammers an equaliser on the stroke of full time , I was 12 I think was it the same team , think Dave Beckles was it was in goal for us and wonderd what the crowd was , those were the days . Just got back from the Den , what is it with them lot ha ha . You know the amount of times ive thought about the floodnights and crowd that night , probably old age sending me potty

Anyone remember Paul Davies?
Yes I remember Paul Davis he was the brother of a Ron Davis he played for Southampton
Paul signed for Boro from Charlton I think. If I recall correctly he was doing the knowledge to be a cab driver. He was one of the most accomplished player to wear the Blue and Gold. If he hadn't suffered a career ending injury in that fateful game against Ramsgate he would probably have led Boro back to the Southern League Premier Division. No doubt Phil Redwin has more info on a player I remember very fondly for his great skill and goal scoring.
