Knowing only a win would do in their battle for survival, Romford trounced relegation threatened rivals Norwich with a dominant display of fast attacking football. The visitors did start the game well and a header looked to be flying into the top corner until Romford stopper Rob Budd produced a stunning one handed save to keep the guys from Norfolk at bay. In fact that was the only time he was called into action as it was one way traffic from then on. Captain Danny Cossington rose the highest to reach a Carlos Djalo corner but headed the ball just over. Romford looked deadly on the counter attack and a quick ball forward found Ernest Okoh down the right wing and his cross was guided towards goal by Djalo but the Norwich keeper did well to save the ball with his legs. Romford continued to push forward and Ayo Olukoga released Djalo down the left before the striker cut inside, beating two men before unleashing a bullet like shot into the top corner to give Romford the lead after twenty-one minutes. Djalo and Okoh both got into good positions for Romford but their shots were straight at the keeper while Olukoga fired inches wide after getting on the end of Djalo's cross. Despite bossing proceedings Boro could only go in at half time one goal ahead.
The second half continued how the first ending with Romford well on top. Nick Reynolds fired a shot just over from distance before Romford finally doubled their lead in the fifty-seventh minute. Djalo was presented the ball at the half way line and ran straight at goal shimmying past a defender on the edge of the box before smashing his low left footed shot into the corner of the net. Romford should have put the game to bed but despite getting in great positions either missed the target or held on to the ball for too long. Okoh would was a constant threat all time finally grabbed a third goal when his shot looked to be heading over suddenly dipped under the bar with the keeper unmoved sending the crowd wild and giving all three points to Romford. The win moves the Boro level on points with Norwich with only goal difference keeping them rooted to the bottom but they are now unbeaten in five games and won two on the trot.
