After a bye in the Ist Round it was a trip to familiar territory for Romford's 2nd Round game at Burroughs Park where White Ensign groundshare with Great Wakering Rovers.
Boro fielded a very young squad which included six youth team players and new signing Finlay Dorrell, but they soon settled into the game, having the better of the first half and creating the majority of the chances on goal. Lewis Smith hit the post in the 28th minute after one of his meandering dribbles into the penalty area and then won a penalty a minute before the break when he was tripped inside the box. Skipper on the night Kris Newby stepped up to smash home the spot kick.

Four of Boro's academy players that started the game.
Romford continued in the same vein after the interval but in the 64th minute White Ensign were awarded a penalty of their own which their striker Ethan Evison duly converted. And then after only a further three minutes the same player picked up a loose ball just on the edge of the Boro area and beat Jake Anderson with a low drive. Romford pressed forward and came very close on a couple of occasions towards the end, but could not take the game to a penalty shoot out and exited the competition.
