Came through the youth team and leapfrogged the reserves to make a startling impression in the Essex Senior League. Played mainly in defence but also in midfield, and was a consistent goalscorer, mostly from headers. Was quickly put on contract and went on to be voted Player of the Year in his debut season. Was less prominent in a midfield role under Mark Reed, but improved his goalscoring rate further and proved an excellent deputy up front when Kevin Clark was injured. Continued his excellent goalscoring record into the 2004-05 season and established himself as the season's leading scorer from centre back, only being overtaken at a late stage by Jordan Tolan. Still became the first player ever to win the Player of the Year award twice, and was also voted Players' Player of the Year. Left to join rivial Hornchurch and is now playing in the Conference South with Concord.
