manager June 1998 to January 1999Was manager of Bowers United in Boro's early seasons in the Essex Senior League, and came to Sungate to manage the reserves when Les Whitton was first team manager. Took over the first team when Whitton 'departed' and promoted several of his reserve team players with a reduced budget. Sustained a comparable league position to Whitton's squad in Division One but followed chairman John Goodwin to Bishops Stortford in mid-season, along with several players. Wasn't able to keep them in the Premier Division and was sacked early the following season when they continued to struggle.
