Game at Wadham Lodge replaced... with game at Wadham Lodge!

Following the cancellation of tomorrow’s scheduled friendly against Walthamstow at Wadham Lodge, a replacement fixture against Boro’s Essex Senior League rivals West Essex…at Wadham Lodge!

Tomorrow’s game will be played on an outside pitch at Wadham Lodge as the main stadium there is out of action following damage caused by foxes, hence the cancellation of the Walthamstow game.

West Essex have played a number of pre-season games, the most recent of which was a 3-1 defeat at Tilbury, however they have had some good wins, 3-1 at Bowers & Pitsea and 10-1 against Athletic Newham.

Boro opened their Essex Senior League campaign with a 4-2 win at West Essex last season and completed the double over them with a 3-1 win at Mayesbrook Park.

West Essex’s roster of players includes a number of ex-Boro men including Scott Doe, Nick Reynolds, Lewis Browne, Bleron Ademi, and Chaka Barnett among others.

As stated above, tomorrow’s game will be played on an outside pitch at Wadham Lodge Sports Ground, Kitchener Road, Walthamstow E17 4LL.

From the A406 North Circular, leave at the A112 junction, turning left into Brookscroft Road, then left into Kitchener Road. The ground is on the right and has ample parking. If you follow the Post Code on your Sat Nav and leave the A406 at the A104, there is a barrier in the middle of Brookscroft Road that prevents turning into Kitchener Road, so don’t go that way!

By public transport, two buses will get you to the ground from Romford. Take the 66 or 128 to Gants Hill and then the 123 that goes to Wood Green, alighting at Thorpe Coombe Hospital, from where it is a 10 minute walk. The nearest stations are Wood Street (London Overground) or Walthamstow Central on the Victoria Line, which are 20 minutes to half an hour walk away.
