Now that the dust has settled after last Saturday’s final day win over Harwich & Parkeston that secured Boro’s place in the Essex Senior League for another year, here’s a look at some of the things coming up in the weeks until the 2026-27 season starts.
The football club AGM will be held on Thursday 7th May 2026 at Hendersons Sports and Social Club, Kenilworth Road, Harold Hill RM3 9NE, starting at 7.30pm for card carrying club members. As usual any supporters who are not members but want to join the Q and A after the AGM will be welcome. This will start at about 8.30pm.
Then on Saturday 9th May 2026 comes the club’s End of Season Party which will also be held at Hendersons Sports and Social Club, starting at 7pm. If you’ve not got your ticket yet, these will be on sale at the AGM.
Although Boro’s season has finished, there is still some Essex Senior League football to be played. In the Play-Off Final on Saturday 2nd May 2026 our landlords Barking are away to Buckhurst Hill with a place in Isthmian League North the prize for the winners. The game kicks off at 3pm. Then, on Monday 4th May it’s the Final of the Errington Challenge Cup in which Great Wakering Rovers play Halstead Town at Redbridge FC with a 3pm kick-off.
In the days after Non-League Finals Day on Sunday 17th May, in which the FA Vase and FA Trophy Finals will be played, the National League System Allocations for 2026-27 will be announced (last year they were released on 15th May), when we will know who Boro will face in the Essex Senior League next season.
The draws for the FA Cup and FA Vase follow sometime after the NLS allocations – in 2025 they were published on 4th July. The Essex Senior League fixtures were issued on 22nd July last year, so we should expect to see who Romford are playing and when about the same time this year.
Also, at some point in the coming weeks the schedule of pre-season games will be announced as well as player signings, so keep checking here for Boro news throughout the close season.
