Romford Academy vision is to create an environment for 16-19-year-olds to progress within both sports and education surrounded by first-class facilities and resources. We wanted to stop talented young footballers from falling through the net and give them a chance to progress their talent with top quality coaching and to build up to be able to play in the first team or move on up in the professional game.

Our training philosophy is designed to improve our players in all aspects of the game, educating Romford Academy players both technically and tactically. We believe that our programme gives our players the best platform to improve their game across all aspects, better than any other sports and education programme of our kind.

What do we offer?

The educational programme offers a unique opportunity for students to train and study in an environment that will develop their academic and sporting performance. In our football development programme with academic studies will be based at one of our training centres. Here students will benefit from an excellent range of training facilities and dedicated classroom for academic studies.

All Academy students will receive daily training involving individual and team coaching on from highly qualified coaches who are affiliated to their sports. With advice-giving to students on fitness, nutrition, development with regular appraisals and monitoring each student’s performance

• BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport, Coaching and Fitness (QCF)

• Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Supporting the Delivery of Physical Education and School Sport

• Level 2 NVQ in Activity Leadership(QCF)

• Sports Level 2 Coaching Apprenticeship

• Institute For Apprenticeships Community Sport and Health Officer - Level 3
