The FA have released the National League System allocations for the 2026-27 season, including the constitution for the Essex Senior League, which is as follows:

There are no surprises in the constitution of the Essex Senior League for the coming season with Heybridge Swifts returning to the league for the first time since 1984 following their relegation from Isthmian League North, while Hutton are promoted as champions of the Thurlow Nunn League Division One South along with Clapton Community who were winners of the same league’s Play-Offs.
Frenford retain their place having been rewarded with a reprieve after a fantastic run of form over the last eight games – of which they won six – which lifted them off the bottom of the table at Athletic Newham’s expense.
The full list of allocations from Step 2 to Step 6 can be found on The FA website at: https://www.thefa.com/news/2026/may/14/nls-club-allocations-2026-27
These allocations are subject to change, either due to the inevitable appeals – although very few have succeeded over the years – and the correction of any errors.
