Managerial change for Boro

Romford Football club have today accepted the resignation of first team manager Steve Butterworth, In a statement to supporters Butterworth said

“My short spell as Romford manager has come to an end. An opportunity has come up to progress further in my management career.

I hope in the short spell myself, Dan and the players have managed to put a smile on the Romford supporters with the great cup run we had in the FA Cup and FA Vase, and although it was a game to forget in Jersey, everyone who made the trip enjoyed the ride.

I will look on and check results every week and hope Romford can get back to step 4 in the near future.

Thank you to all the supporters, committee and players. And Steve and Colin for giving me the opportunity to get back into football at the start of this season.
All the best Scouse.”

Romford currently sit 16th in the Essex Senior League with 12 league games left to play.

Romford Chairman Steve Gardener said “ Supporters will have some fond memories from this season . We wish Scouse well in wherever his next step takes him, and will also follow his progress with interest.

We are delighted to announce that Dan Spinks has agreed to take the manager's position until the end of the season. Dan is stepping up from assistant manager but the committee have every faith in Dans ability, which he has shown since arriving at the club with Scouse in the summer.

Dan's first game in charge is an away trip to White Ensign tomorrow (Saturday). I am confident supporters will get behind the team and Dan straight away and will join me in wishing him every success.
