The Club appreciate it has been an upsetting week for many, including Kris, his family, and our loyal supporters.
Further to our official announcement earlier this week, I and the committee would like to put on record our appreciation for what Kris (and family) have done for the Club both as a player and more recently as first team manager. Kris was a huge part of the Club’s recent history and played a major part in helping the Club win The FA Vase at Wembley, something that will always be part of Romford history. Kris’s dedication as manager over the past few seasons is also hugely appreciated by the Club.
I along with the committee are working very hard to secure a sustainable future for Romford FC, beyond the current month to month battle. The precarious financial position at the Club has never been more serious.
Romford Football Club have recently been talking to interested parties regarding future investment into the club and one individual has presented a sensible plan to the Club to make us sustainable for the next 3-5 year period; without a change this would not be possible beyond the short term. This individual would like to work with the existing committee and bring in fresh ideas, access to valuable resources, and of course much needed investment.
More details will be made available at the right time but for now I can confirm, this is not a takeover or change of ownership, and the constitution will stay the same. Anyone wishing to serve on the committee will be put forward for election by the members at next year’s AGM.
I only ever want the best for the Club and to find a suitable path for long term stability of the Club. I appreciate it could have been handled differently.
Please stick with the Club as we need you more than ever.
