This exciting but goalless game means that Romford and Kingstonian will both go into the draw for the next round on Monday lunchtime.

Despite being in the league below it was Romford who took the game to their Ryman Premier opponents with the early pressure leading to a string of corners, but their normally excellent set pieces seemed to desert them.

On nine minutes the ball fell nicely to the hero of the last round, Jamie Dicks who hit a swerving shot from twenty-five yards that the keeper could only parry. Ryan Imbert got the to rebound first, but with the keeper diving at his feet to push the forward out wide he managed to pull the ball back to Abs Seymour whose effort was cleared off the line. Unfortunately, from his brave efforts the goalkeeper took a knock and after a lengthy delay, was forced off the field with concussion. Things went from bad to worse for the visitors when five minutes later their right back had to limp off after injuring himself tackling Ryan Imbert. After all the stoppages, Romford were still on top and Reece Tranter had a shot saved and on thirty-five minutes another long distance drive from Jamie Dicks went millimetres wide. On thirty-eight minutes Kingstonian had their first big chance when after a header in the box the ball was hit against the post from three yards out. Kingstonian finally started to look like a team in the league above and had a good spell of pressure leading to Andre McCollin hitting the underside of the bar after a neat , flowing move. With nine minutes of injury time in the first half Romford went back on the attack but Jamie Dicks and Jack Barry could only fire their chances over.

Battle commenced in the second half and Romford nearly took the lead on forty-nine minutes when Reece Tranter did well down the right and his cross found Jack Barry, but the midfielder's effort on the stretch went just over. Kingstonian were having a bit more play than in the first half but none of their few chances were troubling Aaron Omand’s goal and likewise at the other end Romford couldn’t manage any clear cut chances for themselves and both defences were dealing with everything that was thrown at them. In the eight-eighth minute Tyrone Berry cut in and curled an effort against the Romford bar but scoring so late would have been unfair to Boro who more than deserved the draw and will take great belief into the replay.
