Both teams started brightly, and in the fifth minute a looping header from a Redbridge forward went over everybody and came off the Boro crossbar, but that was as good as it got for the visitors. A minute later Daniel Jones had a shot well saved after picking up a cross from Nick Reynolds and from then on the home team took command with neat build up play and energetic closing down allied with fierce tackling, snuffing out Redbridge attempts to counter attack.
In the 20th minute Daniel Jones was put through and beat the last two defenders on the edge of the box, but his final touch was too heavy allowing the Redbridge keeper to push the ball away. However, Tom Richardson was following up and cleverly poked the ball between two defenders who had got back on the goal line to open the scoring for Boro. Five minutes later Jamie Dicks powered up the left and drove a fierce cross shot just past the far post and then in the 31st minute Boro won a corner on the right after a sustained attack. George Woodward's inswinging kick was perfectly placed for Nick Reynolds who rose above everybody to head home and Boro were able to go in at the interval good value for their 2-0 lead.
Any thoughts Redbridge had for getting back into the game were dealt a blow after only two minutes of the second half when a Boro attack down the left gave space for Nick Reynolds to cross for Abs Seymour to head in. Romford continued to press with further efforts from Daniel Jones and Jamie Dicks whistling past the post, before in the 67th minute some neat interpassing found Abs Seymour on the penalty spot. He held up the ball for what seemed like an age before slipping the ball to Tom Richardson who neatly placed it into the top corner.
Six minutes later Romford really put the game beyond Redbridge as Tom Richardson dribbled down the left wing beating two defenders before cutting back and playing the ball across the edge of the box for Daniel Jones to get the goal his hardworking performance deserved.
Romford's defence had dealt competently with anything that came their way and were pushing forward at every opportunity to support the midfield and attack. Just before the end, Tom Richardson going for his hat trick, was tripped in the box but the referee took pity on the tiring Redbridge defence and waved play on, but Romford were still able to record their biggest win of the season and once again all fourteen players who got onto the field contributed, playing with great skill and confidence throughout the game.
