Romford dominated from start to finish and opened the scoring on fifteen minutes when Nick Reynolds out leaped the Wroxham keeper to head home a George Woodward free kick. Two minutes later and Jack Barry went close heading over from a corner. Tom Richardson beat a defender and forced a good save on thirty two minutes before Ryan Imbert chipped the ball over the keeper, but just over the bar after getting on the end of a nice flick by Daniel Jones. A long Nick Reynolds throw was headed across goal by Tom Richardson but no Boro players had gambled on the knock and Daniel Jones headed over from another George Woodward cross. Just before half time Nick Reynolds twice forced a save in quick succession after being set up by Jack Barry.

Early in the second half Joe Oates picked the ball up and found Nick Reynolds in space out wide on the left and the powerful striker ran into the box and slotted past the keeper to make it two. Tom Richardson, who was causing all sorts of trouble for the Wroxham defence went close after a strong run and another run set up Nick Reynolds but he could only find the keeper's arms. Ryan Imbert had two chances to score but on both occasions found the keeper standing tall when trying to lob him. Wroxham nearly clawed their way back into the game but a looping effort bounced off the top of the bar and over before two minutes into stoppage time Paul Clayton made it three heading home a George Woodward cross. In the fifth minute of injury time Wroxham had their first shot on target but Atu Ngoy in the Boro goal saved well while at the other end Daniel Jones and Tom Richardson went close to the fourth.
