Romford deservedly beat Erith to move up the table as Paul Martin once again swapped his squad around and giving a run to youngsters Daniel Jones and Reece Tranter who repaid his faith with great performances.

It was a great game played with flair, sportsmanship and refereed fantastically which is so rare to see these days, and is a reminder to all of what used to be. Both teams set out to attack but it was Romford who were on top early on with Abs Seymour at the heart of everything and it was his ball on five minutes that just evaded Rob Whitnell at the far post. Erith themselves had chances early on when Mo Conteh headed wide on nine minutes but straight down the other end Reece Tranter fired wide after great work again by Abs Seymour on the left wing and Daniel Jones fired just over from thirty yards. The game's first clear cut chance fell to Erith on fourteen minutes but after finding himself all alone in the penalty area following a corner Marcus Cassius headed well wide. Reece Tranter had a volley well saved before the youngster got on the end of a Daniel Jones flick and fired the ball into the net on twenty minutes to give Romford the lead. On thirty-five minutes Reece Tranter nearly doubled the lead but fired inches wide of the far post after beating the offside trap, and at the other end another free header was spurned by the visitors.

Straight after half time a great ball by Daniel Jones found Abs Seymour bursting into the box but after rounding the keeper his pull back was cleared. Loanee signing and former Boro player Rob Whitnell who had just returned to the club nearly marked his second debut with a goal but his header from a Reece Tranter free kick was fantasically saved by Ashley Bourne in the Erith goal. From the resulting Abs Seymour corner Daniel Jones flicked the ball on and poor Ryan Palmer could do nothing about the ball as it smacked him in the face and flew into the back of the net on sixty minutes. Rob Whitnell had a chance cleared off the line five minutes later and then at the other end Aaron Omand produced a great save to keep Erith at bay. On seventy minutes Daniel Jones picked the ball up near the penalty spot and found James Ishmail galloping through and the centre back playing slightly further forward than normal rounded the keeper and slotted home to score his first goal of the season and make it three nil.
Abs Seymour was replaced by Jamie Dicks after covering nearly every blade of grass on seventy-five minutes and a minute later Erith got themselves back in the match when Mo Conteh cut inside from the left and fired the ball past Aaron Omand. Reece Tranter made the game safe for the Boro on eighty-one minutes, firing home at the second attempt and the youngster nearly completed his hattrick, but his clever lob bounced just wide of the far post with the keeper stranded.
A great win for Romford as they close in on the top half of the table.
