Ryan Imbert and Daniel Jones both bagged a brace to secure a vital win for Romford and on reflection they could have scored double figures if the Forest keeper had not been in such fine form.
Boro were nearly ahead as early as the fourth minute, but Nick Reynolds' volley was headed off the goal line and five minutes later Daniel Jones was one on one but his shot was saved by the keeper's legs after David Ottley sent him through. Daniel Jones again through on goal sent his shot wide and Abs Seymour fired over after some really good play by the Boro. On twenty-five minutes Abs Seymour and Nick Reynolds combined in the centre of the park and a great run by Joe Oates allowed Ryan Imbert space to wrong foot the keeper and pass the ball into the back of the net to make it one nil. Romford who were all over their hosts looked for a second and found it ten minutes later when a cross into the box fell to Paul Clayton, who was making his three hundred and fiftieth appearance for the club. His shot was tipped onto the post, but Ryan Imbert was on hand to gratefully accept the tap in and double his tally for the season.
Romford were just as dominant in the second half as they were in the first with Ryan Imbert inches away from getting his hat trick after a good cross by Nick Reynolds, and Paul Clayton heading straight at the keeper from David Ottley's cross, before Daniel Jones grabbed his first for the club and Romford's third of the afternoon, looping a header over the stranded Forest keeper and into the net. Waltham Forest were still working hard but Aaron Omand was keeping them at bay without being really tested and the Romford defence were easily mopping up any danger. Ryan Imbert came close again to getting his third but was denied by another great save before in injury time, Daniel Jones grabbed his second, stabbing home from close range after Ryan Imbert's deep cross to Robbie Norris was sent back across goal.
Romford now move up to seventeenth in the league table and will take a lot of confidence into the festive fixtures against Needham Market and Thurrock.
