Romford halted their run of six defeats in a row but will be disappointed not to have taken all three points, after dominating for the majority of the match.
Tom Richardson had a shot saved by Chico Ramos early on and Joe Oates hit an effort wide before Danny Aldwinckle headed over from a Francis Babalola cross. On fifteen minutes a Joe Oates free kick was tipped wide and from the corner Tom Richardson headed the ball beyond the far post. Ramos twice kept Tilbury in the game, once from Richardson and the second time, a fantastic save from a Daniel Jones's half volley after good work from David Ottley. Just before half time Nick Reynolds headed a cross just past the far post and Daniel Jones who was making his first league start fired a volley inches wide.

Abs Seymour shot over the bar at the start of the second half after a surging run and on fifty-five minutes Romford once again failed to hit the target after a fantastic one touch passing move on the edge of the Tilbury box. On sixty-eight minutes Tilbury gave Romford a scare when Sam Cutler shot wide and back at the other end Nick Reynolds hit a shot just over after a neat turn in the box. With six minutes to go a high cross into the Boro box eluded everyone but there was a coming together, leaving a Tilbury man on the floor and the referee pointing to the spot. Lee Weekes stepped up and slotted home to give Tilbury the lead but it only lasted for five minutes when Romford earned a soft penalty of their own when Nick Reynolds was bundled over, allowing Paul Clayton to smash the penalty home. Romford still had time to nearly throw the game away but Aaron Omand was alert and saved well from Weekes when the forward burst through on goal. Romford will feel they did enough to have won the match but will also be relieved not to have lost.
