Romford's poor run continued as they lost at home to AFC Sudbury but their was some consolation as they welcomed back Captain Jack Barry after his broken leg.

Romford opened the scoring in the third minute of the game after a free kick was partially cleared to Ryan Imbert who sent a shot towards goal that was blocked, but the rebound came back to him and he fired low past an unsighted Alex Archer and into the bottom corner. Romford should have doubled their lead on fourteen minutes but Robbie Norris fired well wide of the goal when clean through. Despite Romford's early dominance Sudbury then took the game by scruff of the neck and only a great tackle by George Woodward stopped them equalising on twenty-five minutes when Steve Spriggs had escaped down the right and was bearing in on goal. Three minutes later and it was one all when a deep free kick found Olly Huges who controlled the ball on his chest, turned and fired past Aaron Omand. David Ottley who was outstanding all game at right back nearly set up a goal for Boro but Eddie Hart fired wide of the far post and Robbie Norris shot over after another great run by David Ottley just after the half hour. Just as Romford started to control the game again they fell behind when from a Sudbury corner the ball was cleared to the edge of the box where Sprigg fired the ball into the back of the net via both posts on thirty-eight minutes. On the stroke of half time Ross Watson fired towards goal but David Ottley was on hand to clear the ball off the line.
The Romford fans expected their team to have a real go at Sudbury in the second half but the visitors defended well and cleverly time wasted at every opportunity taking all momentum out of the game for the Boro. Jack Barry came closest to equalising but Archer stood tall to block his shot and Sudbury had a few half chances to extend their lead but couldn't hit the target. After seven minutes of injury time the referee blew the final whistle leaving Romford nervously looking over their shoulder at the relegation zone.
