One of those players, Toran Senghore opened the scoring on thirty seconds when he shot past Aaron Omand after Barkingside had opened up the Romford defence with a neat pass. Robbie Norris fired over after good work down the right wing by Ryan Imbert on fourteen minutes and four minutes later Eddie Hart and Robbie Norris just failed to get on the end of Tom Richardson's cross. Ryan Imbert now popping up on the left skinned his marker and laid the ball to Tom Richardson but keeper Danny Mulrooney saved well low down. On twenty-two minutes Barkingside failed to learn their lesson as Ryan Imbert again burst down the left and cut back to Tom Richardson who made no mistake, this time shooting left footed low into the net. On thirty-two minutes a Jamie Dicks shot was deflected wide for a Romford corner that was sent in deep by Abs Seymour. Paul Clayton did brilliantly at the far post to head the ball back across the goal and Tom Richardson headed the ball home from a couple of yards out to give Romford the lead. Just before half time Dan Callaway hit a long distance shot for the visitors that was pushed wide by Aaron Omand.
Two minutes into the second half and another ex Boro player Andy Edmunds ran into the box and was fouled by Jamie Dicks. Senghore placed the penalty to Aaron Omand's left hand side but the keeper guessed right and saved it low down. On fifty-four minutes Tom Richardson picked the ball up in midfield and played a perfect pass for Eddie Hart to race onto and the striker made no mistake firing home. Romford looked comfortable and it was only Mulrooney in goal keeping the score down but he could do nothing about Romford's fourth. Ryan Imbert and Eddie Hart linked up well before setting up Tom Richardson who placed the ball into the net with his right foot this time to complete his perfect hat trick and his second for the club. With an eye on Sunday's important game Romford made some changes and one of the substitutes Kurt Smith was twice denied by Mulrooney near the end. A good win for the Boro moved them up to mid table in the league and now they can look forward to the their biggest game of the season so far against Premier Division Grays Athletic in the FA Cup at Mill Field on Sunday.
