Romford smashed four goals passed Waltham Forest to register their first points and win of the new season.

Romford started brightly and were on top immediately with Luke Stanley and Ryan Imbert twice going close in the opening five minutes. Waltham Forest showed they had pace and skill up front when Nathan Mutuna fired over but the Boro deservedly took the lead on twenty minutes. Luke Stanley found space on the right wing and sent in a dangerous cross that found it's way to Abs Seymour on the edge of the box where the midfielder steadied himself before blasting the ball into the top corner. Ryan Imbert was proving himself a handful for the Forest defence and it was his run and lay off to Abs Seymour that let the Boro goal scorer play a beautiful slide rule pass to Kurt Smith who casually passed the ball into the bottom corner to open his account for the season on twenty-five minutes. Romford continued to push forward but Forest keeper David Myers did well to save from David Ottley and debutant Ryan Norris before Ryan Imbert had a goal ruled out for offside after a fantastic move. Romford did make it three in first half injury time when Abs Seymour sent in a free kick from the right hand touch line that James Ishmail met and directed a header to the far post where Paul Clayton was waiting to head home.

The second half started and Waltham Forest had tightened up at the back but Romford were still passing well in midfield and it was a great through ball by Luke Stanley that allowed Ryan Imbert to race through on fifty-six minutes and smash the ball home for Romford’s fourth goal of the night. Unfortunately that was the end of the night for the forward who limped off straight after and was replaced by Joel Palmer. Romford failed to create any more clear cut chances but defended well until the eighty-seventh minute when Oyetunti Ojewale found himself past Atu Ngoy after racing onto a long ball, but he snatched at his shot from ten yards out and fired well wide. Romford comfortably saw out the rest of the game and it was a great way to bounce back after Saturday's defeat.
