Romford dominated the opening first half with Lewis Francis and Abs Seymour firing over early on, before on sixteen minutes Jamie Dicks unleashed Aime Blessing down the right wing who scampered forward before firing the ball into the top corner of the net to give The Boro a one goal lead. On the half hour Nick Reynolds swiveled and fired a left foot volley inches wide of the Forest goal, but the powerful striker did get his goal when he headed home after Joe Oates had sent in a deep cross.
A different Waltham Forest came out in the second half and they took the game to Romford setting up camp in our half, and on fifty-four minutes they reduced the deficit to one goal when the ball was only half cleared and George Lutaaya shot low past Aaron Omand. On sixty-five minutes a tackle by Manny Sackey caused a twenty-two man scuffle earning himself and several other players yellow cards before Sackey again this time coming in late on Abs Seymour left the referee no other choice but to produce a second yellow and then a red card minutes before full time. Deep into stoppage time Forest earned a free kick that they sent into the box and Matt Waldon jumped the highest to head home. Despite not winning the point has taken Boro to their best total since gaining promotion in 2009 Congratulations to Paul Martin, Mark Lord and the team for this fantastic achievement.
