It wasn't a great game thanks to a swirling wind and disruptive referee who seemed to blow up for fouls when ever he could and managed to anger both sides equally, but Romford just edged the match. Aaron Omand making his debut in goal saved well with his feet from Emiel Aiken on twelve minutes but five minutes later Romford took the lead when Joe Nightingill misjudged Ben Jones flick on and Kurt Smith poked home before the on rushing Tilbury keeper. Kurt Smith nearly doubled the lead when he got on the end of a long ball but his right foot shot was blocked. On thirty-five minutes Joe Oates sent in a free kick that eluded every one and Driscoll saved well low down. On half time Driscoll saved well again this time from Ben Jones when the striker found himself clean through. That missed chance was nearly costly as in injury time Rob Gillman somehow headed over from underneath the Romford cross bar.

Both defences were on top in the second half and chances were few and far between with neither team able to trouble the goal keepers. On eighty-five minutes Tilbury won a throw deep in the Romford half that was taken long and substitute Aaron Matthews side footed the ball low past Aaron Omand and into the net. The goal looked likely to earn Tilbury a draw but Romford had other ideas and went straight back ahead a minute later. Ben Jones whipped in a low free kick and Andre Gumbs bundled the ball home.
Romford managed to see out the game without any alarms and the win moved them up to twelfth in the league.
