First it was off then on and after the long drive we finally got to see a match in Wroxham that despite the score line was a pretty even encounter.

Despite heavy snow the game was given the go ahead after the referee had initially decided to call it off but changed his mind after hearing the pleas of both sides. Nick Reynolds did everything but score on sixteen minutes when after a good build up he rounded the Wroxham keeper but his powerful effort was cleared off the line. On twenty-three minutes and out of nowhere Matt Blake hit a fantastic left foot volley that flew in to the far corner past an unmoved Atu Ngoy to give Wroxham the lead. Blake nearly doubled the lead nine minutes later but Ngoy saved his shot and James Ishmail cleared the ball from danger. Ross Durrant then hit a shot from distance that was dipping in but Ngoy got across and tipped it over. Kurt Smith fired over for the visitors just before half time but deep into injury time Ben Thompson pounced on a loose ball and fired home to double the hosts' lead.

Straight after the break Romford thought they were back in the game when Jack Barry headed in a Kurt Smith cross but the goal was ruled out for offside. That decision proved vital as shortly after Durrant fired in low for the Yachtsman's third before two minutes later Matt Daniels scored from the penalty spot after a Matt Toms foul. On sixty-six minutes the fifth was scored for Wroxham when Blake poked home the rebound after a Thompson shot was saved. The last twenty-five minutes was all Romford and Kurt Smith hit the post twice and Lewis Francis went close. Near the end of the game Boro keeper Atu Ngoy had to go off with an illness bringing Mark Lord on to to break his own record as Romford's oldest ever player and the old timer went close when his effort was saved low by Jake Jessup in the Wroxham goal. The final whistle went shortly after and the Boro faithful left for the long trip home disappointed but not disheartened as for the third time this season a 0-5 loss did not tell the story of a close game.

It should also be mentioned that the meagre crowd of 75 contained 20 Boro supporters who had made the long midweek trip in the snow.
