Late goals from Jack Barry and Kurt Smith earned Romford an unlikely draw on a wet and windy Easter Monday Afternoon.

Romford started the game well and Smith's turn and left foot shot produced a fine save from Grays stopper Tony Tucker who tipped the ball over the bar. From the resulting corner Paul Clayton rose highest but his header was blocked by a defender in the six yard box and cleared.
Grays Joas Carlos had three chances for the visitors in the first half but all his efforts went well wide while Hussein Isa should have done better when his right foot effort went well over after a Paul Kavanagh free kick bounced kindly for him.
One final effort in the first half fell to Joe Oates but his shot was easily saved by Tucker before the ref brought the stalemate first half to an end.

Grays looked like a different team after half time and on forty-eight minutes Carlos for space on the right, cut on towards goal and drilled a ball past Anderson and into the bottom corner to put "The Blues" one up.
Six minutes later an innocuous long ball was misjudged by Matt Toms and Carlos beat Elliott Anderson to the ball and tapped into an empty net to leave Grays cruising to victory.
Full back Craig Pope then broke two Boro challenges and his dipping shot flew just wide of Anderson's goal.
With fifteen minutes left Boro created their best chance of the half when good work by young substitute Michael Clarke allowed Chris Sullivan to bundle his way into the area and his curling low right foot shot was brilliantly tipped wide by Tucker.
In the eighty-second minute the Grays stopper soon became the villain when he cut out a Romford through ball but sliced his clearence for a corner. Kurt Smith picked the ball up and quickly drilled in a perfect cross for centre back Jack Barry to head powerfully into the net. No sooner had the fans stopped celebrating, they had to start again when on eighty-four minutes, Elliott Andersons long free kick caused panic and confusion in the Grays box. The ball run down Matt Toms body and Chris Sullivan produced a good shot that Tucker couldn't keep hold of and Kurt Smith was on hand to tap in his nineteenth of the season.
Both teams had chances to win it but Danny Bunce shot jusdt wide for the visitors and Tucker smothered Smiths low drive in injury time.
All in all a great end to our penultimate home game of the season showing the great fighting never say die attitude Paul Martin has brought to the club.
