The Scholars were the more attacking minded side in the first half although Boro had their moments but the first half ended goalless.
Play was more even in the second half with neither side looking that they could take real advantage of their attacks.
However it was the hosts that got that all important first and subsequently only goal of the game on 65 minutes when a long through ball down the middle found Bradley Harrison and he coolly put the ball past an advancing Elliott Anderson into the Boro net.
Try as they could and despite using all their allotted substitutes Romford were not able to get back into the game with their best chance coming to Kurt Smith who was put through on the left hand side of the Potters Bar penalty area but unable to get his final shot on target.
Romford squad: Anderson; Ishmail (Smith 67); Kavanagh; Clayton © Toms; Seymour; Mackin (White 81); Oxby; Lee; Reynolds; Oates (Long 81). Unused substitutes: J.Barry; Dicks.
