Chances were rare up to half time and Romford had their moments but no really clear cut ones and their hosts couldn’t convert anything either.
Town scored the only goal of the game on 46 minutes when Adam Wallace broke free on the left and, although Elliot Anderson in the Boro goal tried his best to close him down, the ball broke free again giving Wallace the simple job of putting it into the net.
Buoyed by this success Enfield’s control of the game moved up a notch and, although Romford being only one goal down always gave the visitors a chance of getting an equalizer it was only some excellent saves by Anderson that kept them in the game until the final whistle.
Romford squad: Anderson; Ishmail; Kavanagh; Clayton; Toms; Seymour; Clifton; Duru (Richardson 80); Smith (Reynolds 75); J.Barry; Dicks (Elliot 56). Unused substitutes: Hyun Jin Lee; Finn (GK)
