Towards the end of the first half Boro’s Kurt Smith won a penalty only for Sam Mott in the home goal to make a good save from Smith’s own spot kick.
So it came to the second half with the watching spectators beginning to feel that just one goal would be enough to win all the points for the first team to score but it was not to be.
It was Thamesmead who opened their the tally with a penalty on 57 minutes which Ricky Cable converted comfortably.
Romford fought back after this set-back and were rewarded on 64 minutes when Jack Barry moving forward on to a loose ball beat Nott down to his right with a low shot from the edge of the home area.
On 74 minutes the Mead went in front again when the Boro defence failed to clear the ball quickly enough out of their area and Danny Penny scooped the ball into his opponents net.
Try as they did Romford could not get that elusive equalizer although Abs Seymour was unlucky when his powerful left foot 40 yard drive came crashing back off the home crossbar.
However they managed it in the early part of added time when Chuck Duru scored the goal of the match. He turned inwards on the left wing and hit a looping right footed pile driver from way out which beat Mott all ends up to complete the matchday scoring.
