Romford kept the home side to a one goal half time lead scored on 29 minutes. Both the visitors’ Hyun Jin Lee and Hawks’ Lee Roache vied with headers for a home free kick from the left wing and the ball flew across the Boro’s 'keeper and into his net without it being certain who had got the last touch.

The second period was a different story as Boro, with a few second half team changes, took the game to their hosts but, despite their efforts and greater share of the ball, were unlucky not to get at least the one point that their control of play deserved.
