Once again Boro were depleted, with first choice members of the squad unavailable and in a first half played at a slow pace and devoid of much action neither side threatened to break the deadlock, until three minutes before the break when Brentwood received a very fortunate award of a penalty. Nathan Cooper could not get his hand out of the way of a ball into the box which took a wicked bounce, and former Romford forward Tom Richardson stepped up to hit the ball past Aaron Omand into the top left hand corner of the net.

Joe Scott went near early in the second half hitting a shot just past the post, but Brentwood doubled their lead when Sherwin Stanley curled the ball into the top corner of the goal on fifty-three minutes . Four minutes later and it was three when Robbie Rees crossed the ball and Stanley out jumped his marker to head home. Stanley completed his hat trick on sixty-six minutes when he beat Aaron Omand to a through ball and slid it into an empty net. The drubbing was complete on eighty-six minutes when substitute Sam Bantick made it five, slotting home after good work by Alex Akrofi down the left wing.

The only consolation for Boro was that results elsewhere kept them just clear of the relegation zone as they prepare for the Easter Monday derby against landlords Thurrock.
