Romford earned a well deserved victory over struggling Burnham Ramblers thanks to an Eddie Hart brace and one from Ryan Imbert.

Romford captain Jack Barry smashed a volley against the crossbar inside the first minute of the match after James Ishmail had kept the ball alive from a Callum Ibe free kick and James Ishmail's dipping shot went just over five minutes later. On eight minutes Abs Seymour swung in a corner that Matt Toms managed to connect with but his effort was tipped over. Burnham had their first chance of the game when James Ishmail turned a free kick onto the outside of the post before a great passing move pushed Romford up field and when the ball found its way to Callum Ibe, the winger whipped in a cross for Eddie Hart to head home on thirteen minutes. Romford had a glorious chance to double their lead on thirty-seven minutes but James Ishmail headed wide of the target when unmarked. The Boro should have had a penalty when the Burnham keeper missed a cross and with Ryan Imbert ready to pounce on the goal line, the striker was pulled back and unable to tap the ball home. Another chance right on half time for Callum Ibe was blocked on the line and when the referee brought the half to an end everyone couldn’t believe that Romford were not out of sight.

The visitors came out determined not to throw their lead away and in fact doubled it on forty-eight minutes when Ryan Imbert curled home a dipping left foot shot from twenty-five yards. Matt Toms and Nathan Cooper both headed over and Ryan Imbert nearly snatched his second after getting on the end of an Eddie Hart left wing cross, but was denied by the keeper. Aaron Omand in the Boro goal did fantastic all day with his sure handling despite the constant rain and produced a good save from a free kick on the edge of the area. On eighty-one minutes after a quick short corner, Abs Seymour ran into the box along the byline and nearly caught out the keeper when after feigning to cross, his shot hit the post. Eddie Hart got Romford’s third when Tom Richardson’s free kick found him at the far post and despite his first attempt hitting the post he was quickest to the rebound and poked the ball home. Burnham did have a man sent off with five minutes to go after kicking out at a Romford player but all in all it was a thoroughly deserved and much needed victory for Boro.
