Romford thoroughly deserved their two goal victory, their second successive in the league which pushes them further away from the relegation zone.

Romford were well on top in the first half despite losing Robbie Norris early on through injury. They took the lead on fourteen minutes with George Cocklin picking the ball up and dancing his way into the penalty area before passing to Eddie Hart to tee up Callum Ibe who shot through a crowded penalty box and into the net. Ryan Imbert could have made it two on twenty-seven minutes when after racing onto Eddie Hart’s flick, he cut inside but dragged his shot wide of the near post, and minutes later Abs Seymour fired just over after Eddie Hart again set up the attack. Cheshunt, with basically their first attack nearly sneaked a life line but Aaron Omand was alert and saved well before a Romford defender cleared the ball off the line. Before half time Jamie Dicks had a header saved and Eddie Hart's shot was deflected just the wrong side of the post before Romford should have had a penalty when Ryan Imbert flicked the ball past his marker at the far post who stopped the ball with his hand, but the referee waved play on.

With the rain coming down a lot heavier in the second half the conditions made the game a midfield battle with Romford pushing forward whenever they could. The Boro went close when a David Ottley cross from a great move was just too high for George Cocklin and after Ryan Imbert retrieved the ball his cross was just out of reach of Callum Ibe. Romford did get the second goal they deserved, even if it was a bit fortunate when Eddie Hart was fouled a long way from goal. Abs Seymour took the free kick and bending towards the far post the ball somehow eluded the heads of two onrushing Boro forwards before hitting the post and going in. Romford easily closed out the game with Aaron Omand’s goal never really tested as they secured this vital victory to move them up the league.
