Ryan Imbert scored the winner for Romford in the tenth minute of injury time, giving the Boro all three points in a feisty game at Ship Lane.

Romford started well and on six minutes a neat one-two between Jack Barry and Tom Richardson allowed the latter to put in a low fizzing ball that Nick Reynolds at the far post could only poke wide at full stretch. After another Boro attack Redbridge broke quickly and Shane Wallace rounded Aaron Omand before passing the ball into the back of the net on eleven minutes. Romford continued to put the ball in dangerous areas but were not getting the rub of the green and from an Abs Seymour corner Matt Toms could only force the ball onto the post. Matt Toms again came close with a low left foot drive and a Tom Richardson shot hit the woodwork after Nick Reynolds' initial header was parried into the forward's path. In first half injury time Abs Seymour picked the ball up on the half way line and was allowed to run at the Motormen's defence and after looking up found Nick Reynolds who side stepped his marker but could only place his shot into the hands of the
keeper.

Neither team could get out of second gear at the start of the second half and it took until the sixty-first minute for a meaningful effort to trouble the goal. Ryan Imbert worked hard in the penalty box to win the ball back and after a quick turn unleashed a drive that was heading for the top corner before being tipped over by the Redbridge stopper. A minute later Abs Seymour sent in a corner that Jack Barry flicked on but Nick Reynolds could only send his free header over. On sixty-seven minutes Romford finally got the goal their play deserved when Jack Barry got on the end of Abs Seymour's inswinging corner and powerfully headed home. Lady luck didn't seem to be shining on the home team when numerous times the ball found its way into good areas but at the last minute would fall to a Redbridge player, but the hosts did finally get some luck when Redbridge's Patrick Damali stupidly got sent off in the ninetieth minute when he threw the ball into a
Romford's players face before refusing to leave the pitch and causing scuffles to break out all over resulting in four more yellow cards. Six minutes into injury time and Shane Wallace received his second yellow card for the visitors after a late challenge on Paul Preston, reducing them to nine men and as the clock struck one hundred minutes played, Tom Richardson was given the too much space down the right and whipped a great cross into the box for Ryan Imbert to smash home.
