Harlow opened the scoring on eleven minutes when a deep cross found Shane Stamp at the far post and his header back across goal looped into the far corner of the net. Three minutes later and a Reece Tranter corner found Nathan Cooper but his header went just over the bar. Romford grabbed an equaliser on sixteen minutes when after good play by Ryan Imbert, Reece Tranter found Tom Richardson who ghosted past his marker and smashed the ball into the top corner of the net. Just after the heavens opened, Richardson came close to giving the Boro a lead when his low drive skidded just wide of the far post then moments later at the other end Aaron Omand twice denied the Harlow forwards in quick succession. Just before half time Tom Richardson again sent a long range effort wide before the referee brought an end to an even entertaining first half.
Both teams went on the offensive early in the second half with Aaron Omand denying the Harlow full back and Abs Seymour was denied by the Hawks keeper after a fantastic move by Romford starting from the defence. On sixty-five minutes Harlow took the game to Romford with Aaron Omand making two good saves either side of the hosts hitting the bar. Two minutes after Romford thought they had rode the Harlow pressure a cross from the left found Alex Read and the best striker in the league flicked a header into the far corner. Read settled the game on seventy-seven minutes after starting and finishing a move before the forward was withdrawn leaving Harlow without any threat but alas the damage was done and the Hawks gained all three points.
