Both clubs featured two different squads in each half with Romford putting out mixed squads with a few changes in both periods and East Thurrock playing most of their potential first team squad in the second.
With the score goalless at half time the visitors ‘won’ the game in the second half with goals from Sam Higgins on 71 and Reiss Gilbey on 76 minutes.
Boro now look forward to next week’s friendlies. The first away to Barking on Tuesday evening with a mostly trialist squad- kick off 7.30 pm, the second at home to Thurrock on Thursday evening – kick off 7.45 pm with an embryonic first team on show followed by a two team awayday at Felixstowe and Walton United on Saturday 30th July – seconds kicking off at 12.30 pm and first starting at 3pm.
