Romford played a lot of good football without creating many chances until late in the game. Up to then, with the home defence rarely under threat, Reece Tranter had come nearest at the other end on three occasions after good runs into the danger areas before unleashing shots to test the keeper or go just wide. However after 75 minutes Abs Seymour took an inswinging corner from the right to find Nathan Cooper charging into the box and powering an unstoppable header into the net.
In the 80th minute Sam Kemp's toe poke went fractionally past the post and four minutes later another header from a corner put Boro two up, this time Tom Richardson connecting with Reece Tranter's kick from the left.
Abs Seymour received a straight red card for a late challenge two minutes from time, and in the very last action of the game another powerful header from Nathan Cooper cannoned against the post after Sam Kemp's right wing cross.
