In a keenly contested affair with chances few and far between it took two defensive errors to hand Thurrock victory. Barnet put Thurrock one up after a Brooks-Fraser back pass was intercepted on thirty one minutes and another misplaced pass by Joe Oates with eleven minutes remaining gave Rycla a chance and he blasted home.
Romford did have their moments and dominated possession, but a thunderbolt by Lewis Francis which flew just wide in the first half and a second half Hussein Isa dipping drive that went just over were Boro's best efforts.
