I visited training yesterday evening and spoke to Manager Paul Martin before activities began. The latest news is -

There were well over 40 players taking part in a selection of skill and fitness exercises.

Spectators like me were also able to enjoy the experience of 45 minutes of proper eleven-a-side first team aspirant match action .

On the player front five of our first team regulars will not be available for the Boro squad of 18/19 players against Aveley this Saturday. Kevin Neville, Jimmy Noakes, Paul Kavanagh and Paul White have prior appointments on Saturday while Rob Port is now away on two weeks holiday.

On the plus side I have been told that 20 players signed league registration forms last night and that Paul intends to formally introduced them and further signees to supporters over the next couple of weeks.

On a very small minus side I learned last night that Ricki Mackin has decided to join Ben Turner at Redbridge and Chris Barry will be plying his skills at East Thurrock during the forthcoming season.

But on the double plus side it all looks good for Boro's season in Ryman One North. The club is brimming over with some great players who will grace the blue and gold next season.

Up the Boro!
