Romford produced a stunning comeback to move level on points with Witham and only goal difference is now keeping them in the relegation spots.

After winning their last two games, Romford had given themselves a chance of avoiding the drop but things looked bleak today after forty minutes. After conceding a needless corner The Boro found themselves behind when Jack Mochalski headed home on thirteen minutes then Romford lost both fullbacks through injury. Soham doubled their lead when they stole possession and the ball was played through to Mark Lovell who scuffed his shot into the bottom corner in the fortieth minute. But almost immediately despair turned to hope when Danny Nesbitt connected with Reece Hewitt's inswinging free kick a little way out from the far post and sent in a looping header that a defender made a mess of on the line with the ball finding it's way into the net. As we entered first half injury time Phillip Brown-Bampoe received the ball a long way out but hit possibly the goal of the season, smashing his shot into the corner from thirty yards and Romford went into the break with their tails up.

Boro were a different team in the second half and on the hour Jimmy Cox chased a ball forward before hitting a half volley into the net via the underside of the bar to give Romford the lead. It was nearly four a minute later when after a fantastic move Chris Taylor found himself with an open goal, but somehow the Soham Keeper managed to get back to produce an unbelievable save onto the bar. However, this miss did not prove costly as there was a fourth five minutes later when Taylor whose intelligent running was pulling the two Soham centre backs all over the place, found space down the left before picking out Ayo Olukoga who took a touch before firing home, low into the corner. Taylor was the architect again when he picked out Greg Akeple to head home a right wing cross to make it five and Joseph Chidyausiku nearly scored a sixth as the end approached, but his shot hit the post.

So another fine win for the Boro as their turnaround in form continues and the Great Escape MKII is definitely on.
