You could say that this fixture at the excellent Kings Marsh stadium is a good game for the neutrals, never having less than three goals with Boro supporters having fond memories of 4-0, 6-3, and 3-1 victories.

The visitors seemed to be playing with a new found confidence and in the first half matched a Sudbury team who were playing a fast, short passing game on their artificial surface. As early as the first minute Craig Jeakins picked up a loose ball in midfield and sped towards goal before forcing Sudbury keeper Paul Walker into a diving save. The home team came back with an effort that Harry Aldridge did well to save and then hit the crossbar after the resulting corner. They continued to enjoy the majority of possession, although they were finding it hard to penetrate a disciplined Romford midfield and defence. Both teams created chances but Romford would have been more happier with the 0-0 score at the break.

Sudbury started the second half on the front foot but Boro were coming more into it and starting to ask some questions of their own, and took the lead just after the hour. George Woodward's shot was blocked, but the ball came back to him and his second attempt was only half cleared to Joseph Chidyausiku who finished left footed into the corner. And seven minutes later the visitors were two up. Ayo Olukoga won the ball in his own half, charged forward and collected a good return pass from Greg Akpele before cutting inside and seeing his drive deflected to Nathan Joseph who crashed his shot into the roof of the net via a defender. Almost immediately Sudbury missed a golden opportunity when Jordan Blackwell could not convert from yards out after a cross flashed across the Romford goalmouth. Chris Taylor and Danny Cossington were substituted on to add fresh legs to the midfield and Pedro Carvalho also came on as the game went into five minutes of added time and he straight away bagged Boro's third, sweeping home after Jeakins' cross had been helped on by Taylor and Olukoga. With the game all but over Liam Bennett scored a consolation for the hosts that was deserved, but robbed Aldridge of the clean sheet his earlier saves at crucial times had merited.

So Romford completed their first league double of the season but still have everything to do in their final three matches.
