Biography

Appearances 193 (League 135)
Goals 12 (League 7)

Started the 2000-01 season in the reserves, but spent a while at Aveley, returning when Boro’s suspension was lifted. Was put into the first team at right-back by Paul Withey and came on very well as the season progressed but had a disappointing 2001-02 season. Was often used in a more advanced role by Paul Joynes and had a knack for getting into good positions in the box, and for well-timed late runs, but poor finishing let him down too often. Also found it difficult to produce good crosses after making progress out wide. Was a similar story in the Essex Senior League, as his biggest problem seemed to be a lack of confidence, particularly in front of goal. Missed start of 2003-04 season while working abroad and spent a brief period at Tilbury (but was suspended for the whole time after being sent off for Boro's reserves) before returning to Rush Green in December. Was never really a regular again until well into the 2004-05 season, but showed a greater maturity as he moved into fourth place on the Club's all-time appearances list and doubled his career goals total, including Boro's hundredth goal of the season at Concord Rangers in April. Finished the season by becoming the first player to win the President's Cup twice, having first won it in his debut season. Disillusionment at not having a regular place in 2005-06 led to a two-month absence in the latter half of the season but returned in April and scored Boro's last goal of the season. Left in the close season and eventually resurfaced at Barkingside.
