Saturday 9th November 2019 - BetVictor Isthmian League North

Romford travel to Heybridge tomorrow to face a Swift side that have had the upper hand in the last few encounters. Last season's visit to The Aspen Waite Arena ended 3-1 to Heybridge in a game that featured three penalties, two for Swifts, one of which Harry Aldridge saved (pictured, photo by Alan Edmonds) while the other was converted, and one for Boro, scored by Reece Hewitt.

The result left Boro bottom of the table, nine points behind Witham Town, but was followed by a five game unbeaten run that eventually meant that relegation was avoided.

In all, Boro have played Heybridge at Scraley Road in ten league games, winning 4, drawing 1 and losing 5 scoring 14 goals in those games and conceding 26. Unfortunately, no mention of Boro's trips to Heybridge can avoid the chastening 9-1 defeat of February 2018.

Boro's last positive result at Heybridge came in 2016 when Greg Akpele's third minute goal was enough to earn all three points in a 1-0 victory, although Callum Chafer's penalty save was of almost equal importance.

As one might expect, Heybridge are among the division's front runners again this season, currently sitting sixth with 18 points from ten games. Their last result represented something of a setback, however as they were beaten 5-0 at Aveley last Saturday. That was only their second defeat in the league, in the other they were beaten 2-1 at home by Grays Athletic.

Leading the line for Swifts is Alex Teniola, a familiar name to Romford supporters. He has nine goals to his name so far this season.

Admission prices for this game are:
Adults: £10.00
Concessions: £5.00 (60+) (Students)
Under 16s: FREE

No doubt most Boro fans are well versed in how to get to Heybridge, but just in case, the Post Code for Sat Navs is CM9 8JA. By public transport it is necessary to get yourself to Witham Station first, and then catch a number 90 bus to Heybridge. The bus stops in Colchester Road adjacent to Oak Road. From there it's a short walk to the ground in Scraley Road.
