Tilbury 3 (1) - (0) 0 ROMFORD Attendance 110 - Chadfields

Defeat at Tilbury means that Romford will be bottom of the league at Christmas.

After a good win in the week, Paul Martin made one change to the team that beat Cheshunt with Billy COYNE returning in place of Ryan Burt-Allen, but it was another poor start with the hosts taking the lead inside five minutes. Romford lost possession high up the pitch and a long ball forward found Toby Aromolaran who out paced Teddy PERKINS before slotting past Stephen REYNOLDS to make it one-nil. The rest of the first half was all Romford but despite a lot of possession they failed to create much. Chris TAYLOR went close in the seventeenth minute, firing wide under heavy pressure after a poor ball across his own box by a Tilbury defender set up the striker. Ten minutes before the break a Sam MVEMBA left wing cross was headed towards goal by Taylor but the ball was blocked before Jonathan NZENGO fired just wide. Right on half time a good Romford move allowed Ayo OLUKOGA to whip in a cross but somehow a combination of Carlos DJALO and Taylor failed to scramble the ball home from inside the six yard box.

Five minutes after the break a Coyne cross nearly sneaked in but the keeper did well to tip the ball over and then from the resulting corner Nzengo shot just wide. Tilbury twice went close with headers before they did grab a second as Adam Vyse produced a sublime back heal to Aromolaran who placed the ball under Reynolds. From then on Boro faded and Tilbury were in the ascendancy. Man of the match Vyse was running the show for the hosts and he grabbed himself a well deserved goal as Aromolaran skipped past his man and pulled the ball back for the striker who then side stepped his marker before smashing home. Romford never gave up and tried to put some moves together to get a goal back but it was only some poor finishing on Tilbury's part that kept the score at three and finally the referee blew the final whistle to put Romford out of their misery.
