Biography

Appearances 58 (League 32)
Goals 21 (pen 1) (League 11 (pen 1))

Former Spurs junior who started at full-back and worked his way forward to the front line within a couple of months. Was reported to be attracting the attention of Manchester United and was never the same again. Had an unsuccessful trial with Grimsby Town (scoffing too many burgers before the game, reportedly), and early the following season was told by Don McGovern to come back when he'd lost some weight. Came back the following pre-season but wasn't really up to Division One, suffering from the yips in front of goal. When he did score he was in the habit of pulling off his shirt, which made him look silly at Potton when Boro had to borrow their strip - the sleeves were a bit tight, leaving him running around with the shirt flapping off his wrists. Was released soon afterwards, resurfacing at Ware via Enfield to be re-united with his old sparring partner Warren Gravette, where he posted a very good scoring record.
