Will Easter bring good fortunes to Romford FC?

The Easter weekend will bring about a plethora of exciting games for many East London-based teams. West Ham United will surely gain themselves three points when they take on Leicester City; currently just one point behind Swansea City in ninth place, they should have no trouble taking down the Midlands-based team who currently sit at the bottom of the table.

While the FA Cup will not be gracing our screens again until the middle of April, there is still a whole host of action for lower league teams – including fellow East London team Romford FC, who have a tense weekend ahead of them.

For Romford, the weekend could be make or break, and they could see their hopes of promotion dashed in an instant. The boys have two big challenges over the Easter break – first, they will be taking on Brentwood FC, who have really come into their own in the last few weeks, having beat both Ware and Burnham Ramblers in the Ryman One North League, and not having lost a game since 10th March. Romford will take on Brentwood on Easter Saturday.

Later, the team will also be battling it out on Easter Monday against their landlords Thurrock, who are doing all they can to make it into the playoffs this season. It will certainly make for an interesting bet for Romford FC fans, who can get all the latest updates on the team’s odds at http://www.betsafe.com/en/ before the matches take place this weekend.

In particular, two of Paul Martin’s players’ tricky situations will affect their odds in the upcoming matches. Manager Martin will have to survive without Abs Seymour, who was recently suspended. Without Seymour’s skilled left foot and eye for the goal, the team could struggle – even more so without their dependable Luke McCleavy, who is on the bench thanks to injury.

On the plus side for Romford however, we could see the return of both Jamie Dicks and Eddie Hart to the team this weekend. Martin will be sure to make the most of the several utility players he currently has in his squad, enabling him to play with various formations. Romford would be advised to play to their strengths; the team currently have more strikers at their disposal than they have had at any other time previously this season.

Romford now find themselves in a position whereby they need the help of other teams near the relegation zones, but will this be enough? Only time will tell.
