Brightlingsea win Ryman Division 1 North

As in the home fixture Romford gave away an early goal, from which they never recovered. In front of a large partisan crowd Regent piled on the pressure and by half time with the score 3 0 it was always going to be an uphill task. Although Romford had several injuries it is fair to say Regent have been the most consistent side this season. Despite being 4 0 down Romford battled to the end and Ryan Mallett scored a consolation goal.

An almighty cheer signalled Maldon had failed to beat Dereham meaning Brightlingsea were worthy champions. We wish them all the best for next season in the Premier division.

Romford still have a say on who finishes where in the play off positions with a home game against Maldon on Easter Saturday and away to Thurrock Easter Monday.
